The musicians of the Orchestra, as well as the artists of the Lyon Opera Choir, come together for a series of chamber music concerts. A perfect opportunity to discover works in a more intimate setting, in three venues that embody Lyon's rich and diverse cultural landscape: the Musée Gadagne, the Salle Molière, and the Lyon Opera Amphi.
This programme explores music from the medieval era to early 20th-century France. How did modern composers such as Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, André Caplet, and Augusta Holmès draw on medieval themes and aesthetics?
These artists set to music ballads by François Villon, Charles d’Orléans, and Clément Marot, filtering the late Middle Ages’ poetic sensibility through the lens of their time and imagination.
