The musicians of the Orchestra, as well as the artists of the Lyon Opera Choir, come together for a series of chamber music concerts. A perfect opportunity to discover works in a more intimate setting, in three venues that embody Lyon's rich and diverse cultural landscape: the Musée Gadagne, the Salle Molière, and the Lyon Opera Amphi.
Musicians of the Lyon Opera Orchestra, performing in a small ensemble, explore the world of operetta and the craze for musical exoticism that captivated artists in the 19th century and persisted into the 20th. Franz Lehár composed his operetta The Land of Smiles, set between Vienna and Beijing. Albert Ketèlbey depicted the life of an Oriental market through music; Carl Zeller left a lasting mark with numerous successful operettas, while pianist and composer Enrico Toselli toured the world for his career.
