The musicians of the Orchestra, as well as the artists of the Lyon Opera Choir, come together for a series of chamber music concerts. A perfect opportunity to discover works in a more intimate setting, in three venues that embody Lyon's rich and diverse cultural landscape: the Musée Gadagne, the Salle Molière, and the Lyon Opera Amphi.
This dual programme displays some of the 19th century’s most beautiful chamber music works for string quartet. The Chrysanthemums by Giacomo Puccini, composed in memory of a departed friend, features elegiac melodies that would later inspire his opera Manon Lescaut –which the Lyon Opera will present in March 2026 as part of its “Betting on Beauty” festival. Alongside this lyrical quartet, a German Romantic masterpiece: Robert Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E-flat Major, Op. 44.
