In Actus..., Lucinda Childs, a legend of American postmodern dance, crafts a minimalist solo for a dancer of the Lyon Opera Ballet. Set to Bach’s Actus Tragicus, the piece reflects on humanity’s yearning for meaning in the face of a chaotic world, with tones of anxiety, tenderness, and melancholy.
