Albert Nikolli was born in Rrëshen, Albania, and discovered dance at the age of eight at a public school in Rome. He specialised in classical and contemporary dance when he entered the Hamburg Ballet School in Germany at the age of 16. He began his professional career at the age of 19 at the Tanzcompany Innsbruck, under the direction of Enrique Gasa Valga. He stayed there for two years before joining the Lyon Opera Ballet in 2016.
