Miu Kato began studying ballet at the age of four with Kazuhiro Kaneta and Kyoko Kono. In 2018, she joined La Dance Contrastee. During her time in Japan, she also performed works by Travis Clausen-Knight, Paul Julius, Mari Nakahara, and Megumi Nakamura, among others. In 2019, she served as Megumi Nakamura’s assistant choreographer for Huis Clos (No Exit), directed by Akira Shirai at the KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre. In 2023, she joined Ballets Jazz Montréal, where she performed works by Andonis Foniadakis, Jo Strømgren, and Ihsan Rustem, among others. She joined the Lyon Opera Ballet in September 2026.
