Le Roi qui n’aimait pas la musique (The Music-Hating King) and its sequel, Le Roi qui tombait amoureux (The King In Love), gather our Opéra de Lyon artists and tremendous actor Pio Marmaï for a night of musical storytelling, in a style close to Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. This poetic, fun tale, written by Karol Beffa for the music and Mathieu Laine for the text, is perfect to introduce young children to the sound of instruments and the power of music.
Let’s teach the King to play the tambourine! The Music-Hating King is an ideal poetic tale to introduce young children to the world of music, with an exceptional storyteller making his Lyon Opera debut. Similarly to Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, this musical story is an opportunity to discover the main musical instruments. In addition to this story, the musicians will also perform the sequel: The King In Love.
