Quand le plus célèbre vampire de la littérature et du cinéma reprend vie dans un concert-fiction à l’Opéra de Lyon : frissons garantis et immersion maximale dans l’univers de l’énigmatique Dracula.
The Carpathians conceal a dark castle – Count Dracula’s secluded residence. This unpredictable, monstrous yet refined being invited Jonathan Harker to spend some time at the castle. After realising he is actually Dracula’s prisoner, Harker manages a spectacular escape back to England. Mina, his fiancee, also has to face the terrifying Count, as well as her own inner demons. This world-famous scary story is the perfect excuse for a bone-chilling time. When it was published in 1897, the epistolary novel by Bram Stoker introduced the concept of subconscious to contemporaries. Vampires went on to embody the psyche’s repressed impulses as well as collective and individual neurosis, in a fascinating blend of terror and magnetism. Reading or watching Dracula means taking a deep dive into our dreams and nightmares – and this concert is the perfect opportunity to do that. The show is performed by the Opéra de Lyon Orchestra, with actors playing the characters, complete with radio sound effects just like in recording studios
Dracula, loosely based on Bram Stoker’s novel. Adapted by Stéphane Michaka.
