Skyler Maxey-Wert trained with the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company before joining the Dresden Semperoper Ballet in 2014. There, he performed a diverse repertoire, ranging from the great classical works to contemporary pieces, and rose through the ranks to become a principal dancer in 2023. He then danced with the Ballett am Rhein for two years before joining the Lyon Opera Ballet in 2026. His repertoire includes works by Aaron S. Watkin, Sir Frederick Ashton, Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek, William Forsythe, Hans van Manen, Nacho Duato, and Ohad Naharin. He has also worked with and created roles for David Dawson, Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, and Metamorphosis Dance.
