Jau'mair Garland, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, began his dance training at the age of eleven. He honed his craft at Pittsburgh CAPA and later at USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, where he trained in a wide range of dance styles.At 20 years old, he launched his professional career with the Alvin AIley American Dance Theater (dancing works by Alvin Ailey and Ronald K. Brown). Driven by a passion for connecting with audiences around the world, he joined Rambert Dance Company in 2024, where he had the pleasure to work with Benoit-Swan Pouffer, Johan Inger, Emma Evelein, and (LA)HORDE. He joined the Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon in October 2025.
