The all-consuming passion of two star-crossed lovers takes centre stage in a Lyon Opera House shrouded in the night of Wagner's Tristan and Isolde

À propos

Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde recounts the two lovers’ pure passion. Here, conductor Daniele Rustioni has selected Act II, the key scene where they speak of the eternal nature of their love. The orchestral and vocal line finds an instrumental echo in Strauss's Metamorphoses. A true tribute composed at the end of the Second World War, the Metamorphoses allow us to hear the poignant voice of Romanticism one last time.
