Opera

The major works featured in the 2021-2022 season are likely to attract a lot of interest. They include Falstaff, Verdi’s last masterpiece and also one of opera’s most wonderful roles; Rigoletto by the same composer, which you were unable to see last season, something that was also the case with Irrelohe, a work by Franz Schreker that has never been performed before in France; and The Messiah. Still, more than ever, and in line with the Lyon Opera’s tradition for many years now, we also invite you to discover new works, with fresh stories and music in pieces such as Shirine, as well as immersing yourself in crossover projects such as Maria de Buenos Aires, where opera meets contemporary circus, or Peer Gynt, a mix of opera and theatre.
