The ruler of her island, Circe becomes humanised thanks to the love of a sagacious traveller, and so discovers suffering and loss. A rising figure in French baroque, Sebastien d’Hérin and Les Nouveaux Caractères, an ensemble devoted to theatrical and operatic encounters, provide a rediscovery of this fascinating myth, and give Henri Desmaret back his glory.
